Reasons behind organising a sport car show
On the 3rd day while celebrating the New Year 2024-25, Andrew Yang organised the Hmong Melbourne Sport Car Show. There were also several competitions catogories, such as crowd winner, lowest car, and the cleanest engine.
Andrew said he wanted to do something new and different from the usual events every year, so friends could meet up.
"It seemed like everyone had a great time. And everyone had their own reasons for liking sport cars," said Andrew.
The youth really like them and have fun because it's something different, and we don't usually meet up as a group. We do meet, but it’s usually only among those we know, not everyone. So, we organised this event to bring everyone together.Andrew Yang, organiser of Hmong Melbourne Sport car shows 2024-25
Andrew said "Everyone had a great time, so maybe next year we’ll do it again, and the youth will be more eager to fix their cars so they can bring them to the show next year."

Insurance costs?
Andrew said when talking about buying car insurance, just look for the cheapest option and go with that.
It might cost around $4,000 a year, and it only covers driving up to 1,000 km per year. This is because some cars don't have many parts available and are considered risky category cars.Tou Moua Yang, whose Nissan GTR Skyline won the crowd winner prize
Nhia Lor said, "I joined a club permit, and they allowed me to drive 90 days a year (3 months)."

Why do people like sport cars?
For me personally, when I was young, I would see others driving and I liked it. When I grew older, I wanted to own a sport car. Driving these cars is fun, powerful, and fast. So, a lot of young people like them. They like nice-looking cars and cars that go fast.Tou Moua Yang
Nhia Lor said, "When I was younger, I liked sport cars. I wanted a Nissan Skyline, Nissan F15, WRX STI. Right now, I still have a Honda VTEC.''
He also brought his Honda VTEC to this car show which won him the cleanest engine category.
Nhia added, "I'm happy that the youth like sport cars, but if you want to own a sport car, you need to save money and not just spend it all on the car. You should save money for fun, but also to buy a house, help your parents, and spend on other things. If you just spend all your money on the car, you’ll have no money left for anything else."

How to maintain and take care of your sport car?
Andrew said, "I suggest meeting with a sport car specialist to help you maintain the car." But Tou Moua said, "If you know how to fix the car yourself, it helps you to save some money. But if you don’t know how to do it at all and take it to a car specialist, it will cost alot.''
Andrew Yang said, "I think most young people know how to take care of their cars which is great."
Tou Moua Yang said, "I fix my car, but if I don’t know much, I will just watch and learn from YouTube. If you don’t know how to fix something for real, then you should take it to someone who does."
There are many types of cars, whether cheap or expensive, you have to choose one you can afford, because if you buy an expensive car and can’t afford it, it could tarnish your credit rating.Tou Moua Yang
Nhia said, "You should know how to fix little things, and if you learnt, you can help your friends. Watching and learning from YouTube helps, and if you don’t do it, you won’t know how to fix things."
