Gay icon and music superstar Sir Elton John has revealed that he will pen his first ever autobiography, due for release in October of this year.
The star, who is currently on his final world tour, made the announcement from his favourite book shop in London, later sharing the news on social media.
"I can’t wait for you to read it, because it’s the truth," John says in the video.
"And so many books that have been written about me haven’t exactly been truthful."
He added: "I can’t wait for you to see what I have to say about my life."
On Twitter, John described his life as "one helluva roller coaster ride."
"And I’m now ready to tell you my story, in my own words," he tweeted.
A biopic about Elton John's life starring Taron Egerton is slated for release later this year. The movie, titled Rocketman, is believed to be a non-traditional musical.
