In this week's SBS cycling newsflash: Elisa Longo Borghini is rumoured to switch to UAE Team ADQ, Jonas Vingegaard-Hansen resumes training after a crash, and Tadej Pogacar dominates the Giro d'Italia with Australian cyclist Ben Oconor vying for a podium spot.

First up, Eliza Longo Borghini, the talented Italian cyclist and Flanders winner is rumoured to join UA Team ADQ for the 2025 season. This move marks the end of her long association with Trek and signifies a new chapter in her illustrious career. Sources close to the team indicate that the deal may have been finalised earlier this month. UA Team ADQ has been actively revamping their roster for 2025, making significant management changes and bringing in experienced staff members.

Meanwhile, Jonas Vingegaard, the two-time Tour de France winner, has been spotted training on the picturesque hilly roads of Mallorca. Following a severe crash in the Basque Country, Vingegaard has been in recovery mode, and his recent training sessions in Mallorca mark an important step in his preparation for the rest of the racing season. The cafe owner at the top of Coll de Sóller shared his excitement on Instagram, posting: "It was great to see cycling royalty Jonas Vingegaard training today and stopping to say hello to his family. Wonderful to see him back on his bike and looking super fit." This recovery period in Mallorca offers Vingegaard the perfect conditions to regain his strength and endurance, and fans are eagerly waiting to see if he will make it back in time for the start of the Tour de France.

In the Giro d'Italia, Tadej Pogačar has once again showcased his dominance by clinching his fifth stage win. With this performance, Pogačar has solidified his position as the undisputed leader of the race. As the competition enters its final stages, Pogačar will have several opportunities to further extend his impressive stage win count, highlighting his near-total control of the race. However, the battle for the podium remains fiercely contested, with riders like Daniel Martinez, Geraint Thomas, and Ben O'Connor fighting for the top three finishes. The stakes are high, and it's all to play for as the race progresses.
