2024 marks ten years since Russia invaded Ukraine with the annexation of Crimea and hostilities in Donetsk and Luhansk. The 24th February marks two years since this ongoing conflict erupted into a full-scale aggressive invasion. On the 22nd February, the Ukrainian Community in South Australia gathered on the steps of Parliament House in a rally led by the president of AUSA Frank Fursenko and MC, Lawrence Ben to pay homage to those brave Ukrainians who stood up to one of the largest, most equipped and most brutally aggressive armies in the world. The aggressor made his intentions clear - that the Ukrainian nation had no right to exist, and must be destroyed along with its language, its history and culture.
