Hari is bringing life to of classic Indian silent films
Hari Sivanesan is an internationally acclaimed composer, veena virtuoso, multi-instrumentalist, and curator. A UK-born artist of Sri Lankan-Tamil heritage, Hari represents a new generation of Indian classical-contemporary musicians. His distinctive style combines South Indian and Western classical traditions with bold experimentation.
In his latest project, Hari is breathing new life into classic Indian silent films. A series of legendary tales - Sati Savitri, Raja Harishchandra, Shree Krishna Janma, and Lanka Dahan - will be screened at Federation Square in Melbourne, accompanied by Hari’s original live music score. To create this unique soundscape, he has brought together a talented collective of South Asian musicians, enhancing the timeless allure of these cinematic treasures.
