The Rhodes Scholarship, established in 1902, is the oldest and one of the most prestigious graduate scholarships in the world. Awarded to international postgraduate students at the University of Oxford in England, the scholarship has been granted to around 175 Australians so far.


Dr. Raghavi Jayakumar has been awarded next year's Rhodes Scholarship for her advocacy of equality in medical services. Her vision is to create a more equitable and accessible healthcare system in Australia. With this achievement, she becomes the second Australian Tamil to receive the honour, and the first Australian Tamil woman.
