In the video gone viral on social media, a woman can be seen crying and pleading to be rescued. The woman, whose age and name has not been mentioned in the video, can be heard asking Bhagwant Maan to rescue her from her abuser(s).

The woman mentions that she is from Punjab and came to Saudi Arabia for work to support her family. However, she alleges that her employer abuses her, does not give her food for days at end and also beats her. She requests AAP leader Bhagwant Mann to save her from her abusers while citing an example of a girl from Hoshiarpur who was previously rescued from similar circumstances.

The woman can be seen breaking down many times in the video while telling her story. She claims that she has been in Saudi Arabia for a year and at present is in the town of Dawadmi. She says that she has also tried to report the abuse to police. However, she says, that the police didn’t treat her well either and sent her back to her employer.

She also mentions that she has two kids and a sick mother who needs an operation, back home in Punjab and she desperately wants to return to them.

She says that she fears for her life and that she did not expect to fall into such dire circumstances.

While talking about her unfortunate circumstances, she also pleads with other young men and woman who might be planning to go to Saudi Arabia, to not go ahead with the plan and save themselves from a similar fate as hers.

As this woman herself mentions, she is not the first such case.

Over the past few months, four such cases of Punjab women have come into light, including of Iqwinder Kaur of Hoshiarpur and Sukhwant Kaur of Jalandhar.

After the video went viral, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj stepped in and asked the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia to locate her.
