In a brief statement to SBS Radio’s Punjabi Program, Alisher family spokesperson, Winnerjit Singh Goldy said the memorial site will be unveiled on 23 April 2017.
“We are really thankful to the Brisbane council for establishing this permanent memorial ‘Manmeet Paradise’ at the Luxworth Place (Road Reserve), Beaudesert Rd, Moorooka, Brisbane.”
“The site is developed with artificial grass and lighting to commemorate Mr Alisher’s life,” he said.
“A memorial stone will also be in place to tell the life and journey of a very lively man who had a short yet meaningful life.”
“We have brought Manmeet Alisher’s statue from India.”
“On the ceremony day on 23rd April, we will hand it over to city council to eventually set outside Moorooka councillor’s office.”
“The memorial site is not only created in honour of the life lost, but also to deliver an import message to community ‘save humanity’.
“At the ceremony, the family will share the word of thanks to the local community for their care, support and kind words in their time of grieving.”
He said the community has very generously come forward for family’s support.
“The help and support we have received here, perhaps wouldn’t even have received there (in India).”

Winnerjit Singh Goldy, a family friend who is accompanying Manmeet's mother-father and elder brother in Australia said that the family is optimistic that this case will be taken to its logical conclusion.
“We are in Australia until the next hearing, which is to be held on 4th May 2017. We really hope that justice will be served after proper investigation.”
Winnerjit said that the family is so far satisfied with the administration’s handling of the matter.
