The wife of an Indian migrant who drowned at NZ’s Waimarama Beach near Hastings has been discharged from Hawkes Bay hospital.
Hemin Limbachiya, his wife Tanvi Bhavsar and a male relative got into trouble at about 6.50pm at the beach on Sunday, January 14.
26-year-old , despite some heroic rescue efforts by local beachgoers, which included a 16-year-old teenager Cameron McCallum.
The male relative who was with the couple managed to swim back to the beach himself.
The husband was pronounced dead at the scene, while his wife was taken to hospital by a helicopter.

The couple married in India on 4th Dec 2017 and recently came back to New Zealand on 4th Jan 2018.
It is reported that Hemin was on a work visa while his wife Tanvi is on a dependent work visa. They were in the process of filing for New Zealand residency.
