Friends of a Brazilian woman whose body was found floating in Lane Cove River have told SBS Portuguese she had been involved with a man who have left Australia last weekend, apparently earlier than his original plan.
Cecilia Haddad had been a well loved and much respected member of the Brazilian community, both in Perth and in Sydney, her friends had said.
Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Ms Haddad had migrated to Australia 11 years ago, initially to Western Australia where she had lived in Port Headland and then Perth. She had lived in Sydney since 2016.

Ms Haddad had been separated from her Brazilian husband Felipe Torres since last year. She had no children.
Cecilia's family is from Rio de Janeiro, where her father still lives. Her mother lives in Florianópolis.
