Armando Percuoco, a chef and restaurateur originally from Naples, in his almost 50 years in Australia has contributed to making Italian cuisine one of high quality, appreciated by all Australians. As of yesterday, Armando Percuoco is a member of the Order of Australia.


Hundreds of people, many also of Italian origin, were recognised in the fields of culture, art, business, sport, politics and charity. Some examples: dancer Paul Mercurio, made famous by the film "Strictly Ballroom", former member of the NSW Parliament Marie Ficarra, singer John Lo Piccolo and entrepreneurs active in the Italian community Paul Signorelli, Peter Maniscalco and Giuseppe Ienco.
