The Philippine Consul General in Melbourne Ma Lourdes Salcedo delivered on behalf of the Filipino community in Victoria its support for the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation.

Key Points
  • The $5,500.00 donation was part of the proceeds from the 125 Kalayaan Celebration in 2023. Individuals and Filipino business also contributed to the overall amount.
  • Every year, around 90 thousand children receive 'urgent care' from the RCH.
  • The Royal Children's Hopistal not only assists children from Victoria; it extends its services to children from Tasmania, NSW and any child in need of care.

The remainder of the funds raised from the 125 Kalayaan Celebration in 2023 funded three workshops delivered to the community. They are grant writing, public speaking, and digital literacy for senior citizens. A portion of the remaining funds has been set aside for the planned second Rizal Park in Victoria.
