Everything We Need is a seven-part series featuring remote communities as they grapple with the impacts of climate change, worsening bushfire and flood risk, intense summer weather, food and water insecurity, and rising energy costs.

Host Kyla Brettle lauded the APAs for providing a platform for podcasts produced by "micro teams".

"It's like the fairy story is still possible in podcasting," she said, adding that the series was created "with a lot of love" from the state government and help from the SBS Audio team.

"The best thing about the award is being able to draw attention to the passionate, visionary and down-to-earth people I spoke with for the series and share some of the great work around climate adaptation that's happening in regional Victoria."
