The Moon of the Holy Ramadan was observed in Brisbane, Australia on Wednesday, according to the Moonsighting Committee of Australia.

According to the Hijri lunar calendar, the Arabian name of the ninth month is Ramadan. In Bangla, it’s pronounced as Ramzan. The meaning of Ramadan or Ramzan is “too hot”. One of the five pillars of Islam is fasting.
Meanwhile, in some mosques on Wednesday, “Khatam Tarabi” has been started and some other mosques have started “Sura Tarabi”. On the occasion of this glorious month, Iftar is arranged in most of the mosques for the people who will be fasting.
In the meantime, there is a festive atmosphere in the Sydney suburb of Lakemba Suburb. A 'Food Market' will remain open from 4 PM to 4 AM on the footpath of Haldon Street throughout the month. Bangladeshi food traders will also be present at Railway Parade from Thursday with various kinds of delicious Iftar.
Australian politicians have already greeted Muslims, and Muslims of New Zealand and Fiji are also celebrating the fasting from Thursday as the moon of Holy Ramadan is also seen there.
