"This is a super simple dish I like to eat when I come home from a comedy gig. I'm usually craving carbs and salty flavours after the adrenalin rush of the night, and this dish has that in bucketloads - but it also has some vegetables too. The miso butter comes from a David Chang recipe that he shared in The New York Times," says comedian Jennifer Wong of this recipe, which she shares in the 'Aftershow' episode of The Cook Up. With a packet of purchased gnocchi in the fridge, you can have this deliciousness in your bowl in around 15 minutes.

A take on a classic Philly Cheesesteak (a type of long roll filled with thinly sliced beef and melted cheese, that Adam Liaw describes as "like the kebab of Philadephia"), these rolls make great late-night eats. Here, Adam has put a Korean-style twist on the American favourite, using gochujang paste in the marinade for the beef, and kimchi in the filling.

This is the sort of grab-with-both-hands hearty meal that will make midnight you really happy with earlier, forward-thinking you, who made the delicious braised pork in advance. The chopped pork can be kept in the fridge or freezer, then reheated in a pan over low heat. Rou jia mo is the world’s oldest hamburger. Originating in Shaanxi Province, this hamburger has been made for more than 2000 years. Instead of making the specific ‘mo’ buns, Adam Liaw uses English muffins instead. So all you need to do is warm the muffins and stuff them with your pre-made, delicious la zhi rou (braised pork).
