Funny man Jimmy Carr hosts this wonderfully weird hybrid game show in which Countdown  and Letters and Numbers co-mingle. It’s always a gas, with visual gags, brain teasers and a host of comedians, such as Lee Mack, Roisin Conaty and Alan Carr, who, alongside team captains Sean Lock and Jon Richardson, keep the laughs coming.

‘Any idiot can muddle through real life, but how will our guests fare when faced with absurd situations made up purely for the sake of entertainment?’ Guided by host Josh Widdicombe, two teams of two must respond to three rounds of hypothetical scenarios. Award-winning comedian James Acaster (Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2019 Award for most outstanding show) is the arbiter of the teams’ responses and deftly deals with their quibbles. The Curse of Oak Island

Oak Island lies off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada. It’s said that treasure lies buried there, but mysterious obstacles have proven deadly to hunters in the past. None of that stops brothers Rick and Marty Lagina, who spare no expense in their attempt to locate the fabled treasure. They’ve been at it for some years. Will their small wins be enough to keep them going? And will they finally find what they’re looking for?

American Runestone: A Viking Mystery

Swedish actor Peter Stormare (Fargo, ) is on a personal quest to discover the origin story of the . Found by Swedish immigrant Olof Öhman on his Minnesota farm in 1898, the artefact has been dated as early as 1362. So how did it end up on American soil? Left by a Viking, perhaps? This piece of rock has courted controversy since it was first unearthed, but Stormare, and history buff Elroy Balgaard, set out to prove that Öhman was no hoaxer.

Will someone come along to repurpose them, or will they be left to rust and decay? Episode 1 visits the Safeguard Base, a former high-tech protection shield against nuclear missiles; Pennhurst, a model facility for people with disabilities; and a holiday destination designed for the working class, Salton Sea.
