Couples Therapy
Couples Therapy season 1 was insightful and fascinating, in a less exploitative way than you might think from the premise: going behind closed doors with therapist Dr Orna Guralnik as she guides four couples through the minefield of honest confrontations with each other and themselves. In season 2, she’s back working with a new group of couples. Michal is furious at her husband for not delivering the life she wants. Tashira resents Dru for insisting they live together. Gianni and Matthew reel from Matthew’s battle with alcoholism. These are real people, fighting to save real relationships.
The new season of Couples Therapy premieres with a double episode on Tuesday 15 June at 9.25pm on SBS VICELAND. The full season will also be available at SBS On Demand from 15 June at 9.30pm. The Surrogates
What is it like to choose to have someone else’s baby? Five young women attempt to carry babies for other people in this new documentary series exploring the emotional and legal complications surrounding surrogacy. The people we meet include a 26-year-old woman having a baby for her boss, a single mum using her own egg to have a baby for a same-sex couple, plus a single man trying to find someone to carry his child. For the five women, there’s no financial reward, and a lot to deal with in their attempt – so why are they doing it? This three-part series is gripping television, with big rewards but big risks. How will it turn out for each of the women, and the hopeful parents they are working with?
The Surrogates premieres Tuesday 22 June at 8.30pm on SBS VICELAND.

Wrestling Sundays: WWE Legends and Dark Side
Things are about to get gripping… And slammy. And dramatic. And there’ll be some wild hair too: From June 27, Sunday night has a wrestling double bill.
First up, it’s WWE Legends. This eight-part series, with unprecedented access to the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment, aka the big dog of pro wrestling promotion) archives, shares the stories of some of the most memorable WWE stars. The series kicks off with one of the true greats of pro wrestling, Steve ‘Stone Cold’ Austin; others include ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage, ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper, Booker T, Bret Hart, Mick Foley and the Ultimate Warrior.
Then it’s time for Dark Side of the Ring, a series that examines the complex intersection of in-ring characters and real life, uncovering much of the untold story of wrestling history. One of VICE TV’s most-watched shows in the US, Dark Side tackles the high highs and the low lows, offering a fascinating insight into a world of entertainment where fantasy and tragedy often collide. The 14-episode season 3 kicks off with the first half of a two-parter on Brian Pillman, an unpredictable wrestler whose career was cut short at the age of 35.

The Story Of
We apologise. You’re about to have a particularly catchy ‘90s tune rattling around in your head. Because… “I’m Blue da ba dee dabba da-ee”. Yeah, just reading it was enough to make you think of those nodding blue dudes with their catchy little voices, wasn’t it? Ever wondered how that song became a hit? It was a flop when Italian band Eiffel 65 first released it, but in a wild turn of events, it then became one of the biggest hits of the late ‘90s. You can find out how in episode 2 of The Story Of, a new series that dives into the back-stories of hit songs and albums. Other eps delve into Shaggy’s hit ‘It Wasn’t Me’ and Sisqo’s ‘Thong Song’.

Taskmaster
Greg Davies hosts this comedy show as the eponymous Taskmaster who, with arbitrary assistance and analysis from Alex Horne, sets five top comedians a series of bizarre, tricky and often ingenious tasks. As season 8 kicks off, Iain Stirling, Joe Thomas, Lou Sanders, Paul Sinha and Sian Gibson are the brave souls who tackle everything from baby monitors to explosive chemistry experiments.
The new 10-part season of Taskmaster premieres on Monday, 14 June at 8.30pm on SBS VICELAND. Season 7 is (but don’t hang around – it’s only there until 7 July).
Cat Ladies
OK, technically this is not a June show but it starts on 1 July and we don’t want you to miss out. This documentary meets four women whose lives and self-worth have become linked to cats. Some have only a few cats, one shares her home with hundreds, but it’s their love of cats that links them – and their struggles to find acceptance in a society all too ready to slap them with the ‘Crazy Cat Lady’ label.
