If you answered ‘never’, you’re not alone. But Brazialian directors Carolina Jabor and Anne Pinheiro Guimarães have set out to change that with erotic drama, Naked (Desnude in Portuguese).

Deconstructing the traditional narratives of sex and eroticism, Naked depicts a mix of reality and imagination. Each episode introduces a different woman protagonist, and explores her delving into a sexual fantasy. She is in complete control of the scenario, feeling her way forward, at times pausing to refine and heighten it as she goes.

Portraying women of different ages, tastes and social status – from a motel housekeeper to a wealthy socialite – each woman’s fantasies and desires are brought to vivid life.

Rather than being presented in a glossy Hollywood style, the cinematography is much more real, with no touch-ups. Here, natural beauty and exploring one’s fertile imagination are celebrated, and we are always seeing the woman’s point of view – talk about sexy.

Naked screens with triple episodes on Monday 13 April at 11:20pm on SBS VICELAND, with double episodes from Monday 20 April. The full season is now streaming at SBS On Demand:
