When two high school teachers discover students are sharing explicit photos of their underage friends and peers online, the revelation has devastating consequences for the students and their families.
New four-part drama series The Hunting follows four teenagers, their families and teachers from the lead-up to the scandal through to its revelation and aftermath. Produced for SBS by Closer Productions, The Hunting stars Asher Keddie (Offspring, The Cry) and Richard Roxburgh (Rake, Hacksaw Ridge) and introduces Kavitha Anandasivam and Alex Cusack.
The Hunting tackles themes of misogyny, privacy, sexuality and sexualisation, as well as online exploitation, masculinity and gender. The series explores some of the most pressing issues of our time and offers a vital portrait of modern, multicultural Australia.
As Keddie says, “There are so many hard-wired ideas we’ve grown up with that we’re realising are unacceptable. The Hunting, and the conversations it will inevitably ignite, are really necessary to stay on the front foot and to help raise emotionally intelligent, respectful human beings.”
New episodes of The Hunting air on Thursdays at 8.30pm on SBS over four weeks and are available to stream at SBS On Demand.
