While New York City's annual Pride parade was celebrated by over 48,000 marchers over the weekend, it was a day that two local women will never forget.

Crowds watched on and cheered as local New York Fire Department EMT Trudy Bermudez proposed to her partner, paramedic Tayreen Bonilla, while walking the parade route.

Bonilla was quick to offer a big "yes".
"I had absolutely no idea, and apparently everybody else knew. I was completely oblivious to the whole thing," Bonilla told shortly after the proposal.

"I felt like there was no better day," Bermudez added.

She continued: "We're proud of who we are, and we're very happy, and I wanted to share that with whoever enjoys happiness."
The New York Fire Department shared the touching moment on their Instagram account.

"She said yes!" The post read.

It continued: "Congrats to EMT Trudy Bermudez and Paramedic Tayreen Bonilla from on your engagement at today’s March!"
The two met through their work with the New York Fire Department four and a half years ago, reports CNN, with Bermudez starting to plan the proposal six months ago.
