Vogue Italia has featured same-sex kissing in its September issue—with models Lily Aldridge and Vittoria Ceretti pictured locking lips.
Male models Pablo Rousson and Edoardo Velicskov are also featured in the brightly coloured ‘Bacio’ spread—and in a video preview of the upcoming issue.
Some critics have commented that the all-white cisgender spread is from a Vogue publication, while others have hailed it as a step forward.
It’s the second issue published under new editor-in-chief Emmanuele Farneti—who is determined to steer the magazine in a new direction.
"Beginning with this issue, our 'remodelled' magazine will tell new stories using new words," he of the July 2017 magazine.
Last month’s Vogue Italia featured a letter to the Minister of Cultural Heritage and Tourism—imploring him to improve LGBT+ tourism in the country.
“Have you said that our country, through its official channels, ignores over 35 million potential gay guests? Try and type Lgbt in the search engines of the National Tourism Agency (Enit.it) and Italia.it. Then look at the results: "zero voices found".
