Donald Glover and Rihanna‘s highly anticipated movie Guava Island dropped over the weekend, following a world premiere at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in California.
Shot on location in Havana and described as a “tropical thriller”, the 55-minute movie was directed by Hiro Murai and, according to viewers, is pretty much an hour-long music video for Glover's alter-ego, Chidlish Gambino.
With Rihanna (who sadly doesn't sing in the movie) playing Glover's girlfiend, the film sees Glover's character attempt to start a music festival for his island community.
And, if the response on social media is anything to go by, it's pretty special.
While some were hoping the movie might be a vehicle for Rihanna to tease some new music, fans were left emotional by the story, particularly one scene which saw Glover serenade Rihanna with a rendition of his song 'Summertime Magic'.
The movie also features a brand new re-working of Childish Gambino's hit track 'This Is America'.
