Twitter seems to think so - and it's making people emotional.
The high-profile pair first raised some eyebrows at the Met Gala after party, with photos and video emerging from the event suggesting the duo were pretty comfortable in each other's presence.
These fiery observations were fanned further by speculation that Monáe and partner Tessa Thompson had broken up, with eagle-eyed fans noticing that Monáe had recently unfollowed Brie Larson - Thompson's Avengers co-star - on Instagram.

Needless to say, the rumour mill has well and truly kicked into gear, with some believing that Thompson and Larson have also started a new relationship.
While the jury is still out, to quote one Twitter user: "I cannot express just how gay I am for the Janelle/Lupita/Brie/Tessa romantic rhombus."
