Actor Chris Evans, AKA Captain America, has taken a public stand against a small group in Boston - proving that when it comes to patriotism, nobody does it better than the Cap.
The group, who call themselves , claim the event will be “a patriotic parade in Boston" to help the local community "celebrate straight pride.”
However, the Marvel star wasn't having a bar of it, taking to social media to slam the idea as 'homophobic'.
"Wow! Cool initiative, fellas!!" He tweeted.
"Just a thought, instead of ‘Straight Pride’ parade, how about this: The ‘desperately trying to bury our own gay thoughts by being homophobic because no one taught us how to access our emotions as children’ parade?"
He added: "Whatta ya think? Too on the nose??"
Now that's a superhero right there.
The group behind the parade, which appears to have three founding members, boasts its very own 'Gay Ambassador', Chris Bartley, who "uses his status in the LGBTQ community to challenge heterophobia wherever it exists."
According to their website, Bartley was previously "ostracized from established advocacy groups for merely suggesting that straight people be afforded equal rights."
