Nobody asked for it, but we're getting it nonetheless.
An all-celebrity version of RuPaul's Drag Race is in the works, with the spin-off set to launch next year, reports.
“Doing drag does not change who you are, it reveals who you are,” RuPaul said in a statement.
“I can’t wait for the world to see what happens when our celebrity contestants get all up in drag!”
According to Vanity Fair, the series will introduce three new celebrities each episode, with the stars assisted by former Drag Race contestants including Alyssa Edwards, Monét X Change, Nina West and Trixie Mattel. The three celebrity contestants will then fight to be named the winner of the episode, with a cash prize being donated to a charity of their choice.
Die-hard fans of the Drag Race franchise are already comparing it to the ill-fated Drag U spin-off series, which last screened back in 2012 after a lukewarm reception.
And RuPaul's Celebrity Drag Race isn't the only season we'll be tuning in for next year. There's also a new season of Drag Race All Stars, RuPaul's Drag Race season 12, Drag Race Canada, Drag Race Thailand and, excitingly, .
Which begs the question: is there such a thing as too much Drag Race?
Fans seem divided, but we'll find out soon enough.
The popular reality series has attracted a number of high-profile celebrity guests in the past, including Miley Cyrus, Lizzo, Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga. While the calibre of contestants for RuPaul's Celebrity Drag Race remains to be seen, there are enough A-list fans of the show to give viewers hope for an exciting lineup.
