Olympian Adam Rippon has opened up to Ellen Degeneres about the work he's doing with GLAAD on their youth engagement program, saying how great a difference a role model would have made to his life growing up.
He told Ellen: "To have these young kids going out there and changing the world, I said 'this is something that I need to be a part of.'"He also emphasised that in the United States, joking: “One in five… I mean, right here, we’re two for two!”

“So look to your left; look to your right; and if nobody’s gay, you’re probably the one,” he added.
Rippon also reiterated his disinterest in meeting with Vice President Mike Pence, who has previously vocalised his belief in conversion therapy, as that was "not a conversation" for him.
He said: “I have nothing to say to Mike Pence. That’s not a conversation for me. I think going to the Olympics has given me a great platform to give a voice to people who feel like they don’t have one.”
Ellen and show partners Shutterfly donated $10,000 to Rippon's fundraising efforts.
