It's a truth universally acknowledged that anyone who follows US politics would develop an internet crush on New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. And age, it seems, does not render you immune.
Need proof? 97-year-old Jerry Rosenblum is someone whose AOC superfandom we should all aspire to. A self-described "strong admirer" of the congresswoman, Rosenblum has written a dangerously catchy number that predicts she will be POTUS one day.
Think finger-clicking Broadway show tune with rhyming talking points.
"She's got that never quit attitude and fights fair and square and I predict some day she'll sit in Donald Trump's chair," he sings over piano accompaniment.
Ocasio-Cortez is beloved for taking action on climate change and her push to pass an economic stimulus package known as the , something Rosenblum highlights in his song.
"Speaking of the climate, there's no time to spare. And what AOC is proposing is only fair."
"We need a Green New Deal to save our planet for sure. Lots of sun and wind power, will help us endure!"
The post has clocked nearly one million views on Instagram to date. The congresswoman herself has spotted Rosenblum's tune on Sunday, giving it her personal endorsement.
If Rosenblum looks familiar, it's because he's penned aback in October during AOC's midterm election campaign. He's since attracted quite the social media following, with nearly 22,000 fans on Instagram.
In an Instagram post, he explained that the new tune was two months in the making, and judging from the reaction from AOC and the internet -- it's certainly worth it.
