Perth has won the race to host the Fed Cup tennis final between Australia and France in November.

Recently-crowned French Open champion Ashleigh Barty is set to spearhead Australia's title bid, with Samantha Stosur and Daria Gavrilova also expected to be named.

The recent demise of the mixed-teams Hopman Cup in favour of the men's $20 million ATP World Cup event means Perth will miss out on seeing elite women's tennis on a regular basis.
But the Fed Cup final has at least softened that blow, with Perth beating out bids from Brisbane and Melbourne.

It will be the first time WA has hosted the final since 1971.

Tennis Australia is scheduled to make a formal announcement at 1030am AEST on Monday.

The final will be held at RAC Arena.
