Every game of the upcoming 2020-21 NBL season will again be LIVE, FREE and in HD via , with select games also live on SBS VICELAND.
Giddey joined the South Australian side as part of the NBL’s Next Stars Program and has already attracted plenty of attention after turning down several NCAA Division I programs.
The 18-year-old boasts an array of skills akin to Boomers star Ben Simmons, and while the future looks bright, the six-foot-eight point guard knows there’s plenty of work to be done.
“I’ve never really done this much work in my life; this is my first professional season,” Giddey told SBS Courtside.
“I think it’s just adapting to a professional environment. You’re lifting weights, then you have training – usually I’ve got my mum driving me around to practices.
“It’s gotten better now because I’m closer with the boys and I get lifts off them because I still don’t have my licence which doesn’t help. But I’m adjusting to it.
“There is a lot of noise and because I’m on social media as a teenager, I see it all.
“I’m excited for it, I don’t really get nervous or feel pressure; I’m just excited to play again.
“Being a Next Star, it comes with a little bit of hype, but I’m trying not to buy into it too much and just do my thing to help our team be as successful as we can.”
