Gobert has been out of action since January 6 when he entered NBA health and safety protocols but on Saturday was cleared to play, alongside Rudy Gay, ahead of the match with Denver.
The Frenchman’s absence has coincided with Utah’s worst losing streak in nearly two years which included defeats to struggling teams such as the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers.
While still boasting an impressive 28-14 record, Utah has dropped to fourth in the Western Conference standings after being overtaken by the in-form Memphis Grizzlies.
With Gobert back in the line-up, the Jazz will get much needed defensive help, especially as they come up against reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic.
The star big man is averaging 15.5 points, 15.1 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in 32.1 minutes per game this season.
Gobert is leading the league in rebounding and is also shooting a league-best 70.6% from the field.
The Jazz centre will be a top candidate for Defensive Player of the Year once again. He won the award last season and has won it three times in the last four seasons.

Monday’s match will be the third time the Jazz and Nuggets have met this season.
Already 2-0 against them on the year, Utah took down Nikola Jokic and Denver a week and a half ago with Gobert and Hassan Whiteside sidelined.
Bojan Bogdanovic was dominant with 36 points, while Gay dropped 18 points off the bench.
