While the 17-19 May race won't be Brown's first time at a UCI Women's WorldTour race - that milestone came last year with the Australian National Team in the Tour of Norway and Crescent Vargarda in Sweden - it will be her first time racing for a top level pro team.

“I'm very excited and proud to be given the opportunity to ride for Wiggle High5 under the Amy Gillett Scholarship,” Brown said.

“This year is a big development season for me and to be able to join one of the top women's World Tour teams is beyond my expectations.”

“I'm really looking forward to learning from my new team mates and experiencing how a top professional team operates. I'm keen to give everything I've got in the racing and help Wiggle High5 get some great results.”
The 25-year-old scorched in the Australian summer with Holden Gusto, finishing third in the women's road race at the national championships and fifth overall at the women's Tour Down Under, both featuring strong fields.

These performances, combined with her victory in the ITT and second place in the road race at the Oceania championships in March, caught the eye of the Amy Gillett Scholarship decision makers.

“This scholarship is a legacy to Amy’s life and ambitions, and Grace has shown similar dedication and determination in her sport.” said Simon Gillett, patron of the Foundation and husband to the late Amy.

“Like all Amy Gillett Foundation Cycling Scholars, Grace has the potential to become a pro-athlete, and we are keen to see the passion she will bring to her role as a Foundation Ambassador.”

Following the Tour of California, Brown will head to Germany with the team for the Thüringen Rundfahrt stage race from 28 May to 3 June.
