Ruth Kearney was an Irish actress best known for her roles on the American television shows "Flaked" (Netflix, 2016- ) and "The Following" (Fox, 2013-15). Kearney was born in London but moved to Dublin with her parents, both of whom were Irish citizens, when she was 5. Once in Dublin, Kearney became obsessed with the idea of becoming a professional actress. When it came time to enter college she enrolled in the drama program at Dublin's prestigious Trinity College, where she later graduated with honors in 2009. After college Kearney embarked on a career as a stage actress. By the early 2010s Kearney began gravitating towards more film and TV work. She nabbed a supporting role in the TV movie "Gracie" (2010), before joining the cast of the science-fiction show "Primeval" (BBC/ITV, 2007-2011) in 2011. After her successful run on "Primeval" ended in 2011, Kearney continued landing guest roles on TV shows like "Covert Affairs" (USA, 2010-14) and "Tyrant" (FX, 2014-16). Then in 2015 Kearney joined the cast of the Kevin Bacon crime-mystery "The Following" (Fox, 2013-15). Kearney appeared in the third and final season of the series. The following year Kearney landed her biggest role to date when she joined the cast of the Netflix comedy "Flaked." The show, which was co-created by Will Arnett, who also starred in the series, debuted on the streaming service in 2016. The second season premiered in early 2017 with Kearney reprising her role.
