Rebecca Liddiard was a Canadian actress who was best known for her role on the mystery series "Houdini & Doyle" (Fox/ITV/Global, 2016). Liddiard was born in 1991 in London, Ontario, and always dreamt of becoming an actress. She moved to Toronto when she was 18 to study theatre at Ryerson University. While studying at the University, Liddiard would go on film and TV acting auditions in Toronto. She nabbed her first film acting role in the 2012 drama "With Her," and followed that up by appearing in the short films "Today I Will Tell Her" (2013) and "Olivia" (2013). To supplement her income in between acting jobs, Liddiard supported herself during this period by working as an office manager in Toronto on a part-time basis. In 2015 Liddiard starred in the comedy web series "MisLabelled" (Web, 2015), which ran for two seasons. In 2016 Liddiard was still picking up whatever acting work she could in Toronto, while earning a meager living on her part-time office job, when she was offered the part of Adelaide Stratton on the mystery series "Houdini & Doyle." The opportunity to appear as a castmember on a TV series that would simultaneously appear on networks in Canada, Britain and the United States, would prove to be life-changing for Liddiard. The show ran for one season on Fox in the United States, as well as additional networks in Canada and the United Kingdom, but was cancelled after its first season. Undeterred, Liddiard continued landing recurring TV roles on shows like "Between" (Netflix/City, 2015-16) and "Saving Hope" (CTV/NBC, 2012-17), as well as on the 2017 Netflix mini-series "Alias Grace," which was based on an acclaimed Margaret Atwood novel of the same name.
