Bursting onto the scene with all the magnetic energy of a teenager in full bloom, Mikey Madison caught audience's attention when she was cast as the complex and emotional teenager Max on the comedy-drama series "Better Things" (FX, 2016-). Born in California in 1999 to two psychologists, Madison grew up with four siblings, including a twin brother. Her main interest for most of her youth had been competitive horseback riding, but when her older sister married a screenwriter, Madison's lifetime of interest in movies was brought up a level. She had always considered herself a film buff, but being exposed to the exciting world of filmmaking in real life inspired her to make a move into that sphere. She would gain valuable experience appearing in a number of short films, and eventually landed her first feature film role playing the co-lead in the independent drama "Liza, Liza, Skies are Grey" (2017). Just a short time later, Madison was cast in "Better Things," playing the daughter of single mother Sam Fox, played by series creator Pamela Adlon.
