Lucas Zumann was an American actor who was best known for starring in director Mike Mills' Oscar-nominated drama "20th Century Women" (2016). Born and raised in Chicago, Zumann's desire to become an actor was evident at a very young age. As a young boy, he forced his parents to take him to auditions, and eventually they complied. Since Chicago had a thriving theater scene, Zumann auditioned for various plays in and around the city. He landed his breakout role in the Chicago production of the popular musical "Oliver." Zumann was a part of the ensemble cast in the musical, and after its successful run, he felt confident enough to embark on a film and TV acting career. He nabbed his first TV role on the Netflix supernatural series "Sense8" (Netflix, 2015-17). Zumann's part on "Sense8" may have been small, but it proved to the first step in his professional screen acting career. That same year Zumann nabbed his first substantial role in the horror film "Sinister 2" (2015). With his acting career on the rise, 2016 would proved to be a breakout year for Zumann. In addition to nabbing a recurring part on the popular NBC action drama "Chicago Fire" (NBC, 2012- ), he also landed a starring role in the film "Thrill Ride" (2016). Furthermore, 2016 was also the year Zumann appeared in the critically-acclaimed drama "20th Century Women." That film, directed by Mike Mills, was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. With his acting career firmly established, Zumann further cemented his rising profile by landing his first series regular role on the Netflix series "Anne" (Netflix, 2017- ). The period drama debuted on the streaming service in March of 2017.
