Kate Fleetwood was a British stage and screen actress who in 2014 appeared in the critically-acclaimed miniseries "The Widower" (ITV, 2014). Born and raised on a big farm just outside of Shakespeare's hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon, one might say that Fleetwood was geographically predisposed to a career in the arts. However, it was her father who first turned her onto the possibilities of acting. After accompanying her father to a performance of Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew," Fleetwood became instantly captivated by the people speaking the gorgeous lines on stage. She left the theater that evening knowing what she wanted to with her life. Now fully aware that acting was her calling, Fleetwood started appearing in numerous productions of Shakespeare's plays throughout London. While earning a name for herself as one of her native country's most prized Shakespearean actors, Fleetwood also started landing various TV roles on shows like "EastEnders" (BBC One, 1985- ), "The Bill" (ITV, 1984-2010), and "Midsomer Murders" (ITV, 1997- ). In 2008 she also nabbed a Tony Award nomination for her appearance as Lady Macbeth in a Broadway production of "Macbeth." Then in 2010 Fleetwood landed her first major film role as Mary Cattermole in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I." Fleetwood continued landing film and TV roles throughout the early 2010s, most notably appearing in the 2013 Oscar-nominated drama "Philomena," before appearing in the 2014 miniseries "The Widower." Fleetwood played Felicity Webster on the series, which chronicled the various murders committed by Malcolm Webster. In 2015 Fleetwood returned to the film world with a supporting role in the mystery "London Road."
