John Philbin was an accomplished actor who appeared in a variety of films throughout his Hollywood career. Philbin's early acting career mostly consisted of roles in various films, such as the Peter Horton suspenseful adaptation "Stephen King's Children of the Corn" (1984), the Jamie Lee Curtis drama "Grandview, U.S.A." (1984) and the Shannon Presby thriller "The New Kids" (1985). He also appeared in the Clu Gulager comedy "Return of the Living Dead" (1985). He additionally landed roles in the TV movies "Not My Kid" (CBS, 1984-85) and "This Child Is Mine" (NBC, 1985-86). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the eighties, appearing in the dramatic adventure "North Shore" (1987) with Matt Adler, "Baby Boom" (1987) and "Shy People" (1987). He also appeared in the action picture "Under Cover" (1987) with David Neidorf. Recently, he tackled roles in the thriller sequel "The Crew" (1994) with Donal Logue, the thrilling mystery "The Killing Jar" (1996) with Brett Cullen and "Girl" (1998) with Dominique Swain. He also appeared in the fantasy "Levitation" (1999) with Sarah Paulson. Most recently, Philbin acted in "Soul Surfer" (2011).
