John Early was an American comedian and actor who was best known as a star of the TBS comedy "Search Party" (TBS, 2016- ). Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Early grew up in a devoutly Presbyterian family. He went to church every Sunday throughout most of his teens, but stopped going after he was 18. Early's first love was acting, and he appeared in various school plays throughout high school. He even tried becoming a serious dramatic actor for a few years after college, but quickly learned that he had an easier time making people laugh. After coming to that realization, Early turned his attention towards comedy. He quickly made a name for himself touring the country with his own hybrid style of standup/variety show comedy. It wasn't long before Hollywood took notice. Early nabbed his first TV role as a guest star on "30 Rock" (NBC, 2006-2013) in 2012, and in 2014 he landed a small role in the independent film "Fort Tilden" (2014). While his screen-acting career was gaining steam, Early made several funny short sketches for the web, which further raised his acting profile. By the mid-2010s Early was continuing to land guest spots on high-profile TV shows like "Broad City" (Comedy Central, 2014- ), "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp" (Netflix, 2015- ), and "Love" (Netflix, 2016- ), as well as in the big budget comedy "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising" (2016). In 2016 Early nabbed his breakout role as the male lead on the TBS dark comedy "Search Party." The second season of the series premiered in November of 2017, with Early reprising his role. In 2017 he also appeared in the films "The Disaster Artist" (2017), "Fun Mom Dinner" (2017) and "Beatriz at Dinner" (2017).
