Born in Killarney, Ireland in 1989, Jessie Buckley first earned the public eye when she came in second place on the BBC talent series "I'll Do Anything" (BBC One, 2008), almost earning the lead in a West End revival of the musical "Oliver!" Instead, she performed lead in the 2008 revival of "A Little Night Music," by Steven Sondheim, which became her West End debut, when the show moved in 2009. Her first dramatic on screen role came in a supporting part on the mini-series "Rosamunde Pilcher's Shades of Love" (BBC, 2010-2011). After graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 2013, Buckley appeared in high-powered stage productions of "The Tempest" (2014) and "The Winter's Tale" (2015). The mini-series adaptation of "War & Peace" (BBC One, 2016) followed in 2016. In 2017, she appeared in seven of the eight episodes of "Taboo" (FX, 2017-) starring Tom Hardy, in addition to lead roles in the series "The Last Post" (BBC One, 2017-) as well as the mini-series "The Woman in White" (BBC, 2017), adapted from the Wilkie Collins novel.
