New Zealand native Jay Ryan made a name for himself on Australia television via the long-running soap opera "Neighbours" (Seven Network/Network Ten/Eleven, 1985- ) and the popular comedy-drama "Go Girls" (TVNZ, 2009- ). The handsome and talented Kiwi learned to affect a perfectly good American accent and his occasional assignments in the United States on shows like "Terra Nova" (Fox, 2011) earned him plenty of exposure and led to his first recurring role on a stateside program, "Beauty and the Beast" (The CW, 2012-16). An enduring fairy tale, it underwent a number of film and television permutations over the years, and as the latest actor to play the dangerous, but romantic half of the legendary couple, Ryan brought his own dynamic interpretation to the part. Ryan's stage and television experience, coupled with his striking good looks and athleticism, made him a desirable casting choice for various types of characters and boded well for his career durability.
