Multiple award-winning German actress Iris Berben began her screen-acting career in the late '60s, with supporting parts in several films in her homeland, as well as the Italian Spaghetti Western "Compañeros," starring Franco Nero. She is best known for appearing in countless made-for-TV movies and series, including the family drama "The Legacy of the Guldenburgs" and the long-running crime show "Rosa Roth," in which Berben plays the title role. She was selected to be president of the German Film Academy in 2010. Her political beliefs often take precedence over her performing life; Berben is a longtime crusader against anti-Semitism, with a history of campaigning in Israel.
