Angel Coulby developed an interest in entertainment shortly after high school, when she studied drama at Queen Margaret College in Edinburgh, and attained British TV cult status at the onset of her career with her part in the short-lived sitcom "'Orrible" in 2001. Coulby continued to appear in smaller guest roles on British TV during the early 2000s with small roles in the maritime drama "Making Waves," the teen dramedy "As If," and the crime drama "Conviction" before earning her first role in a full-length feature film in 2005, a small part in the psychological thriller "The Jacket," which also starred Adrien Brody. Coulby returned to guest character roles in TV after the film's release. After guest spots in the crime drama "Vincent," the relationship drama "Talk to Me," and the comedy "The Visit" she would land her most noteworthy and popular role in 2008: her portrayal of Gwen on the family-friendly fantasy series "Merlin" along with her bright smile, baby face, and uncanny timing not only endeared her to King Arthur fans but also earned her considerable critical acclaim.
