Frida starts another year at school with her best friend Selma. The two girls try to find a place in their new lives, but distance is put between them. Frida is left out and loses her footing in the social game.

In the mid-70s, eight young female dancers struggle to make ends meet in a sexist workplace. However, they discover strength in unity and the bravery to oppose and alter one's circumstances during a turbulent summer.
