Alma Poysti was born March 16, 1981, in Helsinki. She acted in her native Finland for two decades before voicing a role of "Niiskuneiti" in the French-Finnish animated film "Moomins on the Riviera" (2014). Poysti then played the title role of Tove Jansson in the 2020 biopic "Tove" directed by Saida Bergroth. In 2023, she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Motion Picture Comedy or Musical for her lead role as Ansa in "Fallen Leaves" (2023).
