Danish-born actor Alexandre Willaume began his career with a number of roles in short films such as "Restless Heart" (1996), "Indien" (1999) and "Webmaster" (1998). In 2003 he appeared as Martin Christensen in Danish series "Forsvar" (2003-04). He followed this up with appearances in several other Danish television series, including "Deroute" (2008), "Krysters kartel" (2009), "The Killing" (2009), and "Ludvig & Julemanden" (2011- ), in which Willaume played the role of Niels Glad. In 2012 Willaume appeared in Danish thriller "Over the Edge." In 2013, Willaume was cast in the Danish series "Rita," about a schoolteacher with a rebellious and somewhat unorthodox personal life. Willaume played the role of Jonas. In 2015 it was announced that Willaume would join the cast of "The Last Kingdom", an 8-hour BBC historical epic that follows the attack of Anglo-Saxon lands by external Viking forces. The series was set in the 9th century, and was an adaptation of Bernard Cornwell's best-selling series The Saxon Stories.
