Barranbinya man, Tony Armstrong is a former professional Australian Rules footballer who has played for the Adelaide Football Club, Sydney Swans and Collingwood Football Club.

He is based in Melbourne, where he is a host on Triple M radio and as the first Aboriginal play-by-play caller on commercial radio.

What's your greatest moment in AFL history?

Leo Barry's mark in the 2005 Grand Final to with the premiership for Sydney

What's something people might not know about you?

I love cooking (like a chilli garlic prawn pasta) and entertaining

Why is a channel like NITV so important?

NITV is such an important channel as it gives a platform to Indigenous people who are talented and deadly. It also gives Blackfellas the only place to see themselves on TV and give balanced views on their own issues.

What AFL team do you support?

Sydney! 

 

Bianca Hunt

Proud Kamilaroi, Barkindji, Ballardong and Whadjak woman, Bianca Hunt, is an AFLW advocate and youth pioneer.

At just 23-years-old, Bianca has already worked across government, corporate and not-for-profit sectors, presented a TedX talk, all while passionately advocating for AFLW.

Inspired by her families love of AFL, Bianca has not only played Aussie Rules for Sydney University and the Morten Bay Lions, but she is a seasoned umpire and mentee to up and comers across the sport.

What's your most memorable moment in AFL?

When my brother, dad and me were all playing football for the same club back in Brisbane — Moreton Bay Lions

What's something people might not know about you?

I loveeeeee to dance!

Why is a channel like NITV so important?

It's a voice for us, by us and with us. It represents our mob and it shows everyone just how deadly we really are!

What AFL team do you support?

The mighty Brisbane Lions!

 

Darryl White

A triple premiership player for the Brisbane Lions, Arrente man, Darryl White’s AFL journey began in Alice Springs where he played for Rovers and Pioneers.

He played in the 1986 NT Primary team and in 1990, was named a Teal Cup All Australian, before his illustrious career with the Brisbane Lions began in 1992, where he enjoyed 268 games with the team.

A valued member of the Indigenous All Stars team in 1995, 2003, 2005 and again in 2007, he was named the fullback in the AFL Indigenous Team of the Century.

White has since been inducted into the AFLNT Hall of Fame in 2010, the Brisbane Lions Team of the Century in 2015, and the AFLNT Team of the Century in 2016.

What's your most memorable moment in AFL?

Lions winning three in a row in the modern era (with draft, salary cap, restriction on player movement) wasn't meant to be — plus being a non-victorian team, they threw everything at the club to make it unsuccessful.

What's something people might not know about you?

I'm a handball champion and I collect shot glasses from all over the world. 

Why is a channel like NITV so important?

NITV gives Indigenous people an opportunity and platform to raise issues, awareness and celebrate their lands and people.
