The 2020 Queensland Music Awards, one of the biggest events on the Queensland music calendar was held last night at the The Fortitude Music Hall. Featuring performances from Cub Sport, Miiesha, Busby Marou and Jaguar Jonze, the night was a great success for First Nations artists.
Taking home the major prize of the evening for Album of The Year was Thelma Plum and her hugely successful release Better In Blak.
The Blues & Roots award presented by Byron Bay Bluesfest was awarded to pop-folk duo Busby Marou for their Torres Strait Meriam Mer language titled single Naba Norem (The Reef Song).

Another rising star from the Central Australian community of Woorabinda, Miiesha picked up the Remote Region award for her release Drowning.
Dhoebaw man Patrick Mau aka Mau Power took out the Indigenous category with his track Arrived ft. Marcus Corowa
