Noongar rapper and songwriter Dallas Woods has joined forces with ARIA nominated songstress Miiesha to explore issues of mental health and the power of vulnerability.
'Hooked' as soon as he heard the beats that producer Pip Norman (aka Countbounce) played for him, Woods said that he knew it was the perfect foundation for his latest single release which explores his own personal struggles.
"I had been dealing with some demons when I heard it for the first time but was finally starting to see progress in my healing journey and resonated with it melodically and lyrically," Woods said in a media statement.
Two years after debuting on the music scene to popular acclaim and industry support, picking up Triple j Unearthed’s Indigenous Artist Of The Year award in 2018 and high rotation on stations such as FBi in the process, the artist has just released 'Heaven Of My Own feat. Miiesha.
I've always had too much pride when it came to being honest about my demons because I felt it was taboo for men to show emotion and ask for help, which is the furthest thing from the truth

"I just tried to channel the positive energy from all the things that I had been doing to get better physically and mentally and really ask questions of myself, which then allowed me to dig deeper into what heaven would look like to me," he said.
"I'd just love people to embrace the positive energy this song creates!"
The track follows a successful collaborative release, only two months ago with Baker Boy and Sampa The Great.
