Ash Barty has claimed her third grand slam title after defeating Danielle Collins to win the Australian Open.
The World No.1 faced her toughest test of the tournament in the American but was able to prevail in straight sets 6-3 7-6 (7-2).
The Ngarigo woman is the first Australian woman to win the home tournament since Chris O'Neil in 1978.
After a tight start, both players held serve until Barty was able to break the Collins in the sixth game of the match, before taking the first set 6-3.
Collins was far from done, breaking Barty twice in the second to set up a 5-1 lead but the World No.1 stormed back to level and eventually force the set to a tie break.
Barty took the first four points of the break to heap the pressure on Collins.
The American couldnt do enough to bridge that gap as Barty proved too strong to take the break 7-2, and the tournament.
