Australia's treatment of children in the criminal justice system and asylum seekers in offshore detention have been condemned by the international human rights watchdog. The annual Human Rights Watch report says Australia is going backwards in its approach to reducing incarceration rates, with some states and territories introducing harsher laws to crackdown on youth crime
